As a substitute for S90, Canon launched the PowerShot S95 compact premium. The new models include upgraded sensors capable of recording 720p HD video and system companies 'Hybrid IS' that compensates for more types of movement. He also added a multi-aspect ratio shooting and SDXC card compatibility. In addition it features a lightweight version inherits the basic body design tweaks that include a ring control S90, 28-105mm F2.0-4.9 stabilized lens and 3.0 "LCD.

The PowerShot S95 is Canon's first compact to feature Hybrid IS technology, providing improved image stabilization for macro photography.

The Canon PowerShot S95 includes the HS System - a combination of high-sensitivity 10.0 Megapixel CCD sensor and powerful DIGIC 4 processing, which provides exceptional performance low light even better than its predecessor. HS system allows the camera to support a maximum ISO 3200 at full resolution and work to reduce the occurrence of noise at all ISO speeds for high-quality images. Users also can set their own parameters in Auto ISO mode, with the ability to limit the maximum ISO speed they want to employ when shooting.

Using Low Light mode, the camera can also reach extended ISO range from ISO 320 to ISO 12 800, captures images at 2.5MP resolution. Manual control of ISO settings and white balance in Low Light mode also provides greater control over the photos taken in dark conditions, which allows users to accurately capture the atmosphere of a dimly lit environment just like they see it. Low Light Mode also enables higher-speed shooting, catching up to 3.9 images per second, so time is never answered.

The PowerShot S95 features 720p HD video recording 24fps with stereo sound. Thumbnail inclusion of securities in the movie also adds a dimension completely new to video recording - shoot at slower frame rates for time-lapse video style that appears dramatic and exciting scale model. Integrated HDMI port with CEC compatibility makes it simple for video and stills to be viewed and controlled directly using a compatible HDTV and remote control.
